A Little About Me...


I am a recent Alumni from the University of California, Berkeley where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. I was born and raised in the San Francisco/Bay Area where I developed a passion for technology/design and hope to use what I have learned to benefit those in my community. I am currently working as a Software Engineer at Airbnb in SF. Outside of work I am a Hip-Hop choreographer, Breakdancer, Guitarist, and Tae Kwon Do Martial Artist. I also have strong interests in traveling, fashion, and music and love to talk to others to share experiences.

• Oversaw a team of 6 Coding Instructors ensuring effective mentoring of 500+ children across 47 computer science/coding courses

• Actively act as a communication medium between parents, students, and bay area regional managers to ensure students across age groups are being taught effectively and are challenged in their work


AIRBNB

Software Engineering Intern - Payments Team

(Returning For Full-time)

May 2018 - August 2019

• Pioneered the development of a Tax Engine that processes transient occupancy tax (TOT) calculations from booking requests and is customizable to abide by tax laws in various jurisdictions

• Deployed this engine into production enabling Airbnb to calculate TOT for Taiwanese listings saving the company $6 Million in tax expenses per year

• Reduced computation time for tax quotes by 97% ( 400ms to 15ms )

• Placed 1st in the company-wide hackathon with a web application that enables employees to organize, track, and log social activities while maintaining an office-wide leaderboard

• Developed a XML file parser that verifies the format of preprocessed data and batch populates databases with jurisdiction and TOT data


GYANT

Technical Product Management Intern

• Work directly alongside the CTO to develop the platform's FrontDoor product that allows users to obtain contact information for specialized physicians in their vicinity

• Leading the development of a Web Parsing extension to keep the physician info updated and accurate from web sites based on the user's location

• Responsible for research regarding competitor platforms and User Experience enhancements


NVIDIA

Software Engineering Intern

May 2017 - August 2017

• Developed an automated command line tool that parses DMP files from recently modified bugs and generates data visualizations highlighting trends in crash data

• Helped developers isolate, reproduce, and/or fix underlying bugs by showing patterns found in computer crash files, ultimately streamlining the debugging process for software engineers

• Deployed this tool for company wide use and automated it through Jenkins

• Implemented attachment download capabilities for NVIDIA's analytics and visualization platform


APTITUDE SOFTWARE

Software Engineering Intern

July 2016 - August 2016

• Designed the user-interface for the upcoming updated release of the company’s website and created user data charts corresponding to SQL tables

• Implemented modal windows to display documents and editing pages to replace hyper linking

• Outlined new and updated features back-end developers are to add and improve on for the next release

• Set up UI enhancements and new features (Copy, Parent/Child Structures, Inline Help, Uploads)

• Located bugs in the Ruby program and documented corresponding user error/help messages


ALFRESCO SOFTWARE

• Revised and maintained accuracy of data from over 9,000 consumer accounts from the East Coast, Central America, Canada, and Europe

• Collaborated with the sales development team and account executives to streamline the sale of the Alfresco One's flagship software product.

• Reviewed company accounts within the Salesforce database for accuracy and synced them with their information from data.com

AFX Dance

AFX Dance is an urban dance group founded in Fall 2011 to give dancers an opportunity to grow. Our name, [A]spirations, [F]amily, e[X]perience reflects our philosophy of creating a family environment for dancers to build up the confidence and support to reach new heights. With Competition (competitive advanced), Project (intermediate-advanced), and Training (beginner) levels, we hope to provide dancers, choreographers, and directors with new, fulfilling experiences that will empower them to pass on our philosophies to the greater community.

Innovative Design

Innovative Design is a family of graphic designers and photographers at the University of California, Berkeley. We are creative individuals who are continuously evolving by collaborating, inspiring and educating one another. It is through our different artistic tools and talents that we are able to create novel photography and designs for our peers and professional clients.

Mobile Developers of Berkeley

Mobile Developers of Berkeley (MDB) is a pre-incubator for mobile apps powered by a thriving community of developers. As UC Berkeley's first and foremost mobile-focused student organization, it brings together Cal's best engineers to build the next generation of software products. Over the past 2 years, MDB has launched over 27 mobile apps in industries such as education, health, social media, shared economy, music, and location based services. It has also built the core technology behind several businesses through its contract program, and brought the Berkeley community closer to the mobile industry through its open workshops and public events.

Pilipino Association of Engineers

Established in 1988, the Pilipino Association of Scientists, Architects, and Engineers (PASAE) serves as a close-knit support group for students in the technical fields, providing student members a space for social interaction, cultural understanding, professional guidance, and academic support.

Dance the Bay

Dance the Bay seeks to uplift individuals and community through the medium of dance. Dance the Bay (DtB), formerly known as Everybody Dance Now! Berkeley, strives to make dance accessible for youth by providing dance at preschool and after school programs. We teach all genres of movement, emphasizing dance as an outlet for creativity and self-expression, and a means of learning discipline, cooperation, and confidence. We also perform and teach at senior homes and host community workshops on campus to share dance with everyone.

Danceworx

Danceworx was founded in 1988 and is the oldest student-run dance group on the UC Berkeley campus. For over 20 years we have been providing students with a creative outlet to choreograph, dance, and perform in a fun and supportive environment!

[M]ovement Dance

The [M]ovement is one of UC Berkeley's premiere dance groups. We bring together a diverse group of people, performing different styles of Hip Hop, Swing, and Jazz/Contemporary. Our 100+ members form a large, family-oriented community, all who share a strong passion for dance. Whether you've been dancing for years, or just getting started, [M]ovement welcomes everyone to join our family!

Berkeley Engineers and Mentors

BEAM is a student run organization that creates and teaches hands-on science and engineering activities to K-12 grade levels at local schools to make science and engineering more approachable and encourage students to pursue classes and careers in STEM-related fields.

Cal Hacks is a nonprofit organization at UC Berkeley that fosters hacking and entrepreneurship culture on campus by empowering students with opportunities to create.

Pilipino Cultural Night

Directed the Modern Dance component of UC Berkeley's 43rd annual Pilipino Cultural Night.
